A Farewell to Arms

The book A Farewell to Arms is about a soldier in World War one. It starts off very happy by setting the beautiful scene. I think it would be nice there without war. It was very mean and I hated how the soldiers were making fun of or laughing at the priest, it was hard to tell. It annoyed me how the soldiers were telling the protagonist so many places that he should go. They should just let him pick where he wants to go. It was very nice how the protagonist and his friend met some nurses and talked and connected with them. It was kind of weird how the protagonist thought that the artillery battery in the garden was a comfort. It was very nice and cool how the protagonist went to see Miss Barkley. It was very sad how Miss Barkley lost her FiancĂ© after being engaged for eight years, but also why after eight years did they not ever get married? That part didn’t make any sense to me. It was really weird how she felt really sorry for slapping the protagonist and he felt like he deserved it. It was also weird and I hated how she made the protagonist tell things like he loved her and would never leave her. That annoyed me. The law in the town was that you have to have a visible firearm or you where liable to arrest, that didn’t make any sense to me. They even made doctors and sanitation workers wear them. That is unnecessary and they should let those that want to carry firearms carry them. It was mean and weird how when the lady at the desk glared at the protagonist for looking at the marble floors, pillars, and busts.
