The Awakening Response

The book the Awakening was a very interesting book. There was so much going on in the first few chapters it was hard it follow. There where so many new characters introduced that you got confused. That is exactly what happened to me. After that the book to a lot easier to understand and I could follow it more, so that was good. One thing that I didn’t really like was how Edna had so much she was required to do, the one that made the least sense to me was how she had to stay at the house and wait for people to come in and give her cards. It was really satisfying to see her break away from that and just leave because she felt like it. I was angry when her husband got mad at her because she left the house, I think she should have the liberty to leave the house because she wanted to. Another thing that annoyed me was how when she moved to a new house down the block that was smaller and more easily managed, her husband was angry because he thought people would think that they had lost money. I think just because your house is small doesn’t mean your poor, it just means you might want something more cozy. I really didn’t expect the ending that was given, it was a huge surprise to me. Overall I guess I didn’t really like the book because it was not an interesting topic.
